8 most common interior decorations you want to avoid

Here we do not think about the choice of furniture or colors, but the whole, as the furniture and lighting in your interior. Here are 9 small tips and tricks on how to optimize your already beautiful home!

We all have our personal interior style and taste, and so it should be. By interior design we do not mean the choice of sofa, color or style, but can, for example, be the sofa or curtain placement that could be optimized. Here we are talking about that little extra that can lift your home to new heights!

8 interior fittings you really want to avoid:

1. Using furniture that doesn't fit
Do you have a room you do not really like? If it might be some furniture and scraps and not really fit in, move it to another room. Also consider how the furniture fits in size - a large room requires more sophisticated pieces, while a smaller room feels better by smaller furniture.

2. Over-decorate

A bedroom with carefully selected items on display.
"Less is more" can in many cases be walkable even in interior design. Or at least striving for a good balance between all the beautiful things you want to surround yourself with. Take a lap in your rooms and think:

- Which of my things are important to me?

- Which of my things are important to me?

- What can I do without?

Stow away and use seasonally, some things may even be sold. Take a few more turns until you feel completely ready.

3. Overfurnish

The boundary between a well-balanced furniture and that furniture that makes it tip over and becomes too much can sometimes be delicate. An over-furnished room feels cramped and devours energy. Strive to create so much space and air in the furniture that it is easy to move. Sometimes it can help to re-furnish.

4. Want everything at once

Don't buy too much and above all not all at once. Your decor feels good to mature - if you are too fast in your purchases, there is a great risk that you will regret it, which becomes more expensive in the long run. Think about what you really want and then save for it.

5. Hanging the curtains unfavorably

Not thinking about a turn when the curtains are going up is a common mistake. It's easy to do as you always do. To create space and let in light, strive to put your curtains as high up in the ceiling as possible.

6. Buy everything from the same place

Avoid buying entire furniture from one and the same furniture store. A home to thrive in needs personality and details that break off. After all, there is something in the slightly worn interior clutch "we furnish with a personal mix of furniture stores, inherited and flea finds"!

7. Furnish along the walls

Of course, creative furnishing and avoiding the walls do not work in all rooms. But it may be worth testing! Set against the walls, there is often a large, empty floor above and which is not really used. Instead, see in front of you small cozy islands of furniture groups, a small reading corner, drink-coffee-after-dinner group, lounging and cozy group, etc. Tie the islands together with carpets and sideboards, heck something happened in the room!

8. Ignore the lighting

The lighting in a room is A and O, for both the mood and the feeling. You may have furnished a room to perfection, but if you ignore the meaning of lighting, everything can fall flat. All rooms need three types of lighting and all are equally important for the whole: General lighting, work lighting and mood lighting. Beautiful lamps are also decorative.
